Since ancient times, when the body is weak and lacks energy, or when recovery is slow after an illness, Oriental medicine has used the concept of 'bo-yak (補藥)' to boost vitality and replenish qi and blood. Among the numerous tonics, there is a medicine that has been talked about and passed down as a precious prescription for a long time, and that is **Gyeongokgo (瓊玉膏)**.

This prescription, which means a precious treasure like jade, is an old prescription that appears in many classical medical books such as Donguibogam, Introduction to Medicine, and Taiping Huimin Hwaje Gukbang.
Even today, it is used in many Oriental medicine clinics for various purposes such as recovering physical strength, strengthening immunity, anti-aging, and recovering from chronic fatigue.

Gyeongokgo uses **raw rehmannia glutinosa, ginseng, poria cocos, and honey** as its basic ingredients, and is made by boiling it over low heat for a long time to make a thick, solid medicine that can be taken for a long time.
Raw rehmannia glutinosa replenishes blood and body fluids, ginseng invigorates energy, poria cocos helps the spleen and stomach and removes dampness, and honey gently spreads the medicinal effects while adding moisture.

In the Donguibogam, it was highly praised that if you take Gyeongokgo for a long time, “white hair will turn black, fallen teeth will grow back, and you will be able to run as vigorously as a horse.” It even added the exaggerated
expression, “If you take it for 14 years, you will live to be 360 years old, and if you take it for 64 years, you will live to be 500 years old.” Of course, this does not mean that it extends your lifespan in reality, but rather that it is a representative longevity recipe that restores health and vitality without side effects, even if you take it for a long time .

In modern Oriental medicine, Kyungokgo is used for various purposes such as lowered immunity, weakened energy, aging, sleep disorders, recovery from surgery, recovery from cancer treatment, and management of symptoms during the growth period or menopause . In particular , when the body is thin, easily tired, has a pale complexion and has trouble sleeping , or when the body is weak due to seasonal changes or frequent colds, it often shows a good response when taken appropriately.

Gyeongokgo has relatively few constitutional restrictions, but people with a lot of body heat or a very weak stomach should definitely take it after a diagnosis from an oriental doctor. Recently, Gyeongokgo has been used in various ways
to meet the needs of modern people by adding Ophiopogon japonicus, Sanyak, Baekjakyak, Astragali, Cornus officinalis, and Sanjoin according to the patient's constitution and symptoms . For example, Sanjoin is prescribed for cases of sleep disorders, and Astragali is prescribed for cases of severely weakened immunity.

The usual way to take it is 2-3 times a day, in small amounts after meals rather than on an empty stomach. The more you take it consistently, the more effective it will be in restoring your body's balance and enhancing your vitality.

The fatigue, illness, and aging we experience in life are often not simply caused by aging, but by a lack of vital energy in the body. Oriental medicine understands this as an imbalance of yin and yang, and focuses on supplementing it. Gyeongokgo is a representative prescription that embodies the core concept of replenishing vital energy and improving vital energy, and is excellent for balancing vital energy and blood, filling vital energy, and protecting vitality.

If you want to recover from your tired body and mind and breathe new life into your life, experience the wisdom of healthy regeneration and recovery through this precious secret recipe from the classics, "Gyeongokgo".

※ This column may differ depending on the patient's condition or constitution, so it is recommended that you consult with an oriental medicine doctor before taking it.
